Meetings of the Commission

The two first meetings of the year by the ABACC’s Commission took place on March 7 and July 4. In these occasions, several documents were introduced and the most relevant topics concerning the Agency and the safeguards activities performed in Brazil and Argentina were discussed. In addition to the activity reports, the economic and financial balance sheets, the external audit report and the 2006 work plan and budget of the ABACC, a report was presented on the status of the negotiations related to the safeguards approach at the uranium enrichment plant of Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil, as well as on the tasks carried out after the negotiation. The text of the 2004 Annual Report was approved and the new “Technical Support” and “Accounting and Information Management” Officials of the ABACC were selected, the positions being entrusted to Messrs. Jose Augusto Perrotta and Luis Alberto Giordano, respectively. During the second meeting, the new website of the ABACC was launched and is now publicly accessible at www.abacc.org.
