27th ESARDA Annual Symposium
The ABACC participated in the 27th Annual Symposium of the European Safeguards
Research and Development Association (ESARDA), which was held in London
on May 10 through 12.
Discussions were held on several topics related to non-proliferation, such
as the evolution of safeguards, the national and regional systems, and the
additional protocol. There were also technical sessions referred to non-destructive
analyses (NDA), destructive analyses (DA), containment and surveillance,
and information management.
ABACC’s Accounting Official, Lilia Palhares, presented a paper entitled
“Procedures of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the ABACC
for the Joint Auditing of Accounting Records”.
